The Client
A U.S.-headquartered analog-chip company launching its first China design-win center. They needed an FAE who could sit between Tier-1 handset OEMs in Shenzhen and the global product team in Silicon Valley.
The Challenge

• Soft skills: native-level English for daily calls with HQ.

Our Approach
Day 1–2: Built a Boolean string (“SerDes” OR “MIPI” AND “FAE” AND “English”) and pulled 42 names from LinkedIn Recruiter.
Day 3: 5-minute phone screen—ruled out 27 candidates whose English was conversational, not technical.
Day 4: Submitted 6 profiles; the client interviewed 4 via Zoom within 48 hours.
Day 7: Offer extended at $180 k base + RSU—9 % above budget but justified by candidate’s existing $14 M design-win track record.
Outcome
Candidate relocated from Beijing to Shanghai in 18 days; first design-win worth $3.2 M closed in Month 3.
